The Plan for a Fascist, Christian America

For a country that prides itself on ‘Freedom’, it’s shocking to read about Project 2025.

An American Flag flies in the breeze.

Have you read about Project 2025? Every American needs to read this plan for the United States after the 2024 election. If the religious right has it’s way, things won’t look too good for your democratic republic as it rolls on through it’s 248th year.

For all of my fifty years, the American mantra has been ‘Freedom.’ Proudly and loudly, Americans have sung the song of freedom. America’s pride is largely based on the freedom of the people to be and become whoever they choose.

As someone who has spent well over a year of their life in various American states, I have always admired Americans’ love of their country, even when it goes obnoxiously over the top. July 4th fireworks along the Hudson river are amazing!

No country on the planet flies it’s flag with the extreme dedication of Americans. I have often thought it would be nice to see as many Canadian flags as I drive around my country. We are usually more reserved, although lately some clowns think the flag is a protest tool. It is not.

The End of American Democracy

There is a movement to end all that. The end of American democracy is the main goal behind Project 2025. To end the right of the American citizen to have choice. To enshrine the United States as a white, fundamentalist Christian, fascist country is the end goal of Project 2025.

(A note: I personally don’t do religion. I see religion as a means of control. Jesus’s teachings have nothing to do with modern Christianity. I also believe that we have rights. Those who participate in any religion should have the right to do so. This is not a rant against religion. This is a commentary on Project 2025, and the fundamental changes it will bring to the United States. The removal of freedoms currently enjoyed by Americans.)

America was not founded as a Christian country. The founding fathers went out of their way to stress the separation of church and state. Thomas Jefferson was the principle writer of the Declaration of Independence. He had this to say:

“In every country and in every age, the priest has been hostile to liberty. He is always in alliance with the despot, abetting his abuses in exchange for protection to his own.” (1)

“Erecting the ‘wall of separation between church and state’ is absolutely essential in a free society” (2)

From James Madison, forth U.S. president: “Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof.” (3)

Worship freely, as is your right, but America has no official religion, and never shall.

America’s founding fathers correctly understood that the American people’s true freedom depended on the separation of church and state.

I read the 17 page forward that is available at Project 2025’s website. It really is a blueprint for an authoritarian state. ‘The Conservative Promise’ is a real eye-opener for anyone that does not want to live in a fundamentalist religious society. Every law and freedom will be bible-based.

Clearly, the teachings of Jesus mean nothing to these people, and I find it very telling that Project 2025 never mentions Jesus. Only the bible. I assume that is because they know that Jesus would never agree to any of it. He would be a champion of universal healthcare, affordable housing, and the freedom to be who we want to be. Jesus would never call people ‘illegal’, or build walls, or spew hatred.

I urge everyone to read it. Project2025.org

That’s right. A very large group of Americans are willing to give up their true freedom for a bastardized version of freedom derived from the bible.

Yes. The bible. A 1600 year old book, constantly revised, based on scriptures written in the bronze age to control the people and the gold. It uses the fear of hell to scare people into obedience.

It is mind-boggling that this book still has such such a grasp on people in 2023. Proof that brainwashing and indoctrinating young children is incredibly effective at keeping the myths of all religions alive. Generation after generation. Believe or go to hell! How is that not child abuse?

Unfortunately, Jesus’s teachings died with the ‘Doctrine of Discovery’, written in the 15th century. It is the most evil document mankind has ever produced. Written by the Spanish queen Isabella, Christopher Columbus, and Pope Nicholas V, The doctrine granted white Christians control of the entire globe. To spread Christianity, eliminate any non-believers, and steal anything of value from any people not white and Christian.

Those who wrote Project 2025 clearly believe in the Doctrine of Discovery. Jesus’ actual teachings mean nothing to those who have written project 2025. They may pretend to care, but it’s quite obvious that Christian power and control is all that they care about. They believe in the Doctrine of Discovery, and why not? The doctrine crowns white Christians as the rulers of the world, and owners of everything. Including people.

There should be no surprise that the movement is led by the far right religious group Heritage Foundation, and supported by 55 far-right groups.

Changing the Constitution.

When the Founders spoke of “pursuit of Happiness,” what they meant might be understood today as in essence “pursuit of Blessedness.” (4)

No. The constitution is not open to interpretation. The pursuit of happiness means the pursuit of happiness. The founding fathers were against any government connection to religion, so this claim is completely without merit.

But watch. Bit by bit, the writers of Project 2025 will rewrite the constitution. Given the power, it stands to reason that they will write a totally new constitution, bible-based, and toss out the current constitution with yesterday’s garbage.

Sorry ladies, your rights are history.

Take the abortion issue. The Cate Cox situation is Texas has spurred huge numbers of women to get active, sign petitions, and register to vote. Ken Paxton, Texas attorney general, has shown the nation what the religious right has in store for women.

By over-turning the Texas court’s allowance of Cox’s abortion as a medical necessity, he has made it clear that a dead fetus should have more rights than the mother. Even if the mother’s health is in jeopardy. He has done more to get women involved in politics than Taylor Swift ever could. He is simply ahead of project 2025’s timeline.

Conservatives in the states and in Washington, including in the next conservative Administration, should push as hard as possible to protect the unborn in every jurisdiction in America.”

“The next conservative President should work with Congress to enact the most robust protections for the unborn that Congress will support while deploying existing federal powers to protect innocent life and vigorously complying with statutory bans on the federal funding of abortion. Conservatives should ardently pursue these pro-life and pro-family policies” (5)

Sorry. I don’t like it. A woman should have control over your own body. Not only that, but don’t think Texas’ cruel, inhumane laws are going anywhere. They will be expanded to the entire nation. Had a miscarriage? Yes, you could go to jail for that. Raped? So what. Carry that baby to term or go to jail.

The next conservative President must make the institutions of American civil society hard targets for woke culture warriors. This starts with deleting the terms sexual orientation and gender identity (“SOGI”), diversity, equity, and inclusion (“DEI”), gender, gender equality, gender equity, gender awareness, gender-sensitive, abortion, reproductive health, reproductive rights, and any other term used to deprive Americans of their First Amendment rights out of every federal rule, agency regulation, contract, grant, regulation, and piece of legislation that exists. (6)

Now how does that make any sense? Incredible hypocrisy. What we don’t like will be eliminated from the American lexicon. So much for freedom of speech. The first amendment:

“Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances.” (7)

The religious right thinks they are somehow deprived if anyone other than white men actually have rights to equality. Notice how gender equality, reproductive rights, and reproductive health are listed. They do not care about pre and post natal healthcare, only that you are a baby making machine.

More shots against women. Somehow women’s rights to equality are seen as taking away from the rights of men. Only the most sad and pathetic men would really deem that to be true. Real men support women’s rights.

Trump would toss out the first amendment on his first day. He has made that perfectly clear, ranting against anyone who disagrees with him. He whined many times about his inability to simply shut down left wing media. His heroes Putin and Hitler and Mussolini were able to to. (They must be his heroes, he quotes them often.) Project 2025 lays out the instructions for exactly that, although it states ‘the Republican president’, not anyone by name.

The LGBTQ community should be terrified.

The above quote also mentions gender several times. Anyone not heterosexual will lose their rights to be who they want to be. It’s one thing to believe that Lia Thomas should not be able to compete as a woman. That makes perfect biological sense. I’m quite liberal, and I agree with that.

It’s quite another to believe that she should not exist. And yes, the writers of project 2025 do not believe that anyone other than heterosexuals should exist in the United States.

The noxious tenets of “critical race theory” and “gender ideology” should be excised from curricula in every public school in the country. These theories poison our children, who are being taught on the one hand to affirm that the color of their skin fundamentally determines their identity and even their moral status while on the other they are taught to deny the very creatureliness that inheres in being human and consists in accepting the givenness of our nature as men or women. (8)

The entire community will have their rights stripped away. The fundamental right to be who we are will be erased.

The desired result would be the elimination of every LBGTQ person.

Watch out for the new speaker.

The new Speaker of the House is Mike Johnson. Hardcore religious to the extreme. He has pushed for the criminality of homosexuality for decades, going back to his days working for the Alliance Defense Fund in the early 2000s. In his own words, “I was called to legal ministry and I’ve been out on the front lines of the “culture war” defending religious freedom, the sanctity of human life, and biblical values, including the defense of traditional marriage, and other ideals like these when they’ve been under assault.” (9)

Johnson sees any issue in terms of the bible. He does not believe in freedom. He believes that religion should rule the country. Johnson sees any other freedoms as threats to biblical freedom.

He does not understand that he is free to pursue his religion, but can not force his beliefs on the rest of the people. This is dangerous, as he wants to enforce biblical laws on America.

Don’t think so? The rhetoric is very similar to Germany in the 1930’s. Once Hitler came to power, he worked to eliminate anyone who did not look or act like the ‘perfect German.’ Non-heterosexuals included.

Many were sent to Dachau Concentration Camp. I visited Dachau, near Munich. I wrote about it here. Anyone who has visited such a place would not be in such a hurry to embrace Hitler’s ideals. Unless you believe in them, and want to repeat the atrocities of the past.

It would be foolish to believe that can’t or won’t happen again.

I wonder if those Christian parents, who support such policies, would visit their LGBTQ children in jail or concentration camps. It’s not a crazy question.

Embarrassed by history, so pretend it didn’t happen.

Critical Race Theory is also a target. Conservatives hate being reminded of the United States’ racist history. They are so ashamed of America’s history that they want to bury it in the sand and pretend it didn’t happen. CRT is not about blaming the white man for all things bad. It is about acknowledging that systemic racism existed, and still exists.

Example: Everyone knows about the G.I. Bill after World War Two. That bill gave white soldiers the money to build houses with white picket fences out in the suburbs. The bill was the foundation of the rising middle class. The largest government program in history.

How many American students are taught that the G.I. Bill was only for white soldiers? Black soldiers were not entitled to any of the benefits white soldiers were granted

Think of that when you think of 70’s ghettos, and the problems that continue to this day. How might the United States be different today if black soldiers were given the same G.I. Bill? We are talking about soldiers, veterans, who are held in such high esteem today, yet ignored yesterday. Because of their colour. Awarded a medal? So what? You’re black.

That is the point behind CRT. To teach a more accurate history. We should want to know. And if that history embarrasses you, then great. You are less likely to repeat it.

Slavery happened. It’s okay to admit it.

Then again, Nikki Haley, presidential candidate, can’t even admit that slavery existed, and was the primary cause of the Civil War. DeSantis wants a very white-washed history taught in Florida schools. The book banning is becoming ridiculous, “Escambia County school district has included five dictionaries, eight encyclopedias and “The Guinness Book of World Records,” in its list of more than 1,600 books that could soon be banned.” (10) Seriously, WTF??

American students will learn nothing but American exceptionalism. Pretend to be great, always great, regardless of the truth. Stick your head deep in the sand. Pretend that early Americans did not commit genocide. Native Americans were almost completely wiped off the map. Mount Rushmore is a powerful statement, built into the sacred Lakota Black hills. The statement? We are above you, and own this land.

Slavery happened. The civil war happened. Jim Crow laws happened. Segregation happened. Vietnam happened. Heck, January 6 happened, and look at the ridiculous spin the GOP puts on the failed coup attempt. Tourists?

Those pathetic proud boys (too dumb to be a cop, too chicken to join the military) and friends made the United States look like one of those ‘shithole countries,’ as Trump likes to call central America. The scenes from the Capital looked like scenes from an African military coup. Only it was overtaken easier.

The rest of the world made popcorn and watched the show, in disbelief. I mean, this was the United States Capital! Never would I ever believe that I would see such a spectacle! You can bet that America’s enemies were laughing till their sides burst. A tragic comedy. I can only imagine how the history books will remember what we witnessed.

Project 2025 makes it quite clear that the Republicans will win the election, regardless of how the country votes. There is no ‘if’. Seems odd. There can only be one answer. If needed, steal the election. By repeatedly claiming, in the absence of any real evidence, that the 2020 election was stolen, the republicans were laying the base work for the justification to steal the 2024 election.

Again, back to the new speaker, Johnson, who wrote many legal arguments against the certification of the 2020 election. He challenged the results in several states, began the voting machine myth, and tried to cancel votes from covid voting procedure changes. He would love the control to implement a religious regime.

There is a ‘Presidential Administration Academy.’ You can be taught how to subvert government and implement conservative policies on day 1! Talk about indoctrination. If I was American I would apply, just to get my hands on the information they are teaching. (11)

The writers of project 2025 have no interest in freedom. They have only interest in control.

I could go on. It’s a long book.

Yes, I want project 2025 to fail. The United States is just too wonderful a country to not carry on as the ‘Home of the Free’.

I have no interest in this ideology spreading north. Even as I know some Canadians believe in it already.
